My travel guide of amsterdam

Lenguage: The official language of the Netherlands is Dutch, spoken by almost all people in the Netherlands.

Habitants: While Amsterdam has a 2016 population of 813,562 in the city limits, the urban area has a population estimated at 1.1 million and a greater metropolitan area with a population close to 1.6 million. The city has a population density of 4,908 people per square kilometer (12,710/sq mi).

Currency:The country is divided into twelve provinces and has more than five hundred municipalities. The official language is Dutch or Dutch, a language of Nordic origin with Germanic roots. The official currency is the Euro, which is the monetary sign shared by most European countries.

Best time to get there: An exellent time to visit amsterdam or any other part of holland, is during the months of may to october. If we talk about the months of May to October we are talking about the seasons of spring, summer and autumn. Where the climate in Amsterdam and by extension in Holland, is mucfh more favorable.

What to see: We could visit some touristic places of the city such as Vodelpark and Dam Square and finally the Van Gogh Museum

Transports: As you see it is feasible to walk it if you are accustomed to great distances, you have enough time, the weather conditions are not adverse or simply if you are one of those who like to get lost in the walks, go into alleyways and get to know the city and its people thoroughly.

Fortunately, it also gives us the possibility of traveling long distances in a matter of minutes, seeing the city from a different perspective and getting involved with citizens who use public transport in Amsterdam every day.

Choosing between metro, tram, bus, taxi or bicycle will be the only thing that you should worry about, according to your preferences or budget.

Where to eat: You could go to eat a typical Dutch snack Broodje Haring. What is it? It is a sandwich with marinated herring, onion and pickles (€ 3). If you do not dare with raw herring you can always opt for some other option, such as salmon or fried fish.

where to sleep:Preferred sleeping areas in Amsterdam are Dam Square, Spui and Leidseplein. Around these three squares you will find atmosphere at all hours. You will have shops, bars, restaurants and everything you may need.

Leaving these three main areas, we only consider it necessary to have a tram stop in the immediate vicinity. If you have to walk a lot from the stop to the hotel you can regret it on stormy days.
